Greetings
from the High Sierra Chefs Association, the local chapter of the
American Culinary Federation. The High Sierra Chapter represents
Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Lake Tahoe and all surrounding areas
of Northern Nevada and Northeastern California.
The
High Sierra Chapter was established in 1977 and has hosted two
Regional Conferences. We have been voted by the American Culinary
Federation "ACF Chapter of the Year" in 1989 and have received
"Are you really ACF" gold plates in 1993 and 1999.
We are
especially proud of our members who have received Presidential
Medallions, ACF officers that are active both nationally and locally,
of which serveral have received awards for their involvement and
contributions in the food industry.
Our chapter is dedicated and active with Chef
and Child Foundation. We are also very proud to sponsor serveral
local charities. Our members play an important role as mentors
to many of our high school / college students, educating them
in the culinary field.
The
chapter holds a monthly dinner meeting on the first Wednesday
of each month and then followed by our board meeting on the third
Wednesday. Our annual golf tournament is held in June of each
year and is open to all. All of our functions are open to all
ACF members and guests, and we welcome you to attend our monthly
dinner meeting while visiting our beautiful area.
We
are the High Sierra Chefs Association
chapter of the
American Culinary Federation.
